The GEM technology is designed to maximise the amount of energy produced from carbon based waste products, it is not simply a system to destroy waste. The patented technology uses the process of flash pyrolysis to convert a pre-treated fuel to a high quality synthetic gas which can be used for energy generation, as bio-fuel, or as high value industrial gases.

GEM offers modular waste to energy solutions, providing flexibility on size and capacity, meaning plants can be located close to waste sources to minimise transportation and energy products can be utilised locally. Suitable sources of fuel range from black bag domestic rubbish or biomass to animal by-products or industrial process waste such as waste water treatment sludges.

GEM has gained accreditation from Ofgem to claim “Double ROCs” (Renewable Obligation Certificates) on the renewable power it produces. ROC’s are an incentive payment on top of market electricity price in order to encourage renewable energy generation..
